Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your half term holiday.
This week we are looking at the topic 'The Farm' in advance of our visit to Cox's farm next week. On the craft table the children drew tractors and used the templates to draw some farm animals. We also used the play-doh to make models of animals. We had the model farm out for small world play and played with the farm fuzzy felts. We also took the farm animals outside to play with and sang some farm songs. We have been quite musical this week and have been playing ring games, singing along to familiar songs ('the Farmer's in his den' etc). We have also used the musical instruments, it is important in pre-school to learn about and show an interest in musical instrument sounds. Our stories this week have had a farm theme. And on the games table, we played 'Old Macdonald Farm Lotto'; it is fun taking turns with our friends. We also built a den and the children loved pretending it was a cave. Our letter of the week is 'g' for goat and we have been practicing sounding it out. Comments are closed.
