We have really enjoyed the beautiful weather this week and have spent lots of time outside. We have played with the chalks, paint brushes, sand and water and have been out-and-about on Listening Walks. The children listened carefully to the birds, cars motorbikes, dogs and footsteps and we discussed what it means to listen and the difference between seeing something and hearing it.
On the mark-making table, we have had the chalk boards and chunky chalks out as well as lots of paper, pens, pencils, notebooks and clip-boards. We have had lots of fun experimenting with the different ways to make marks. In phonics we have looked at the 'ssss' sound and we have done some work on recognising numbers by hiding and finding the number cards outside. We even drew our own hopscotch grid with the chalks outside. On the computer we looked at "Fuzzy Numbers" and how to count and recognise our numbers. Comments are closed.
