This week we have been making a secret card for this special sunday.... but shhhhh, don't tell Mummy!
On the construction table we have played with the blocks, making towers and counting how many blocks were in each tower and making houses and lorries too. We have also had the sticklebricks out, building tractors, cars and even a dinosaur! Construction toys develop our imagination by letting us express our own ideas and also help us to develop our physical dexterity through our handling and control. Outside this week we have played with the cars on the slope and with the chalks (always a favourite!). We have had the parachute out again and played with some numbers and shapes on the parachute. In phonics, it has been about consolidating what we have learnt over the last few weeks and so we have looked again at 'a', 't', 's' and 'p' so that everyone has chance to get familiar with them before we move on. We have also looked at rhyming, read a book of animal poems and played with a rhyming game. Learning about rhyming will help us when we are ready to move on to reading. Comments are closed.
