Over the last few weeks we have been looking at Autumn and have spent lots of time in the pre-school garden collecting leaves, sticks and conkers. We put all of these out on a nature table and the children added some animals that they thought they might see out-and-about during Autumn.
We have also used our conkers to experiment with different ways to make pictures. We put our conkers in a big tub of paint and then rolled them over paper to make lots of interesting patterns and tracks. On the maths table we looked at our significant numbers (our ages) and learned to recognise numbers. The children chose their favourite numbers and decorated them with the colours of Autumn. Next week is half term and we will not re-open until Tuesday 1st November as Longstone School have an inset day on Monday 31st Oct and we close on their inset days. |
