This week we are looking at trains, planes and all kinds of transport. We had the train track out on the carpet area and on the craft table, we did some rubbings of lorries, cars and buses.
On the puzzle table, we had the wonderful transport puzzles out. There are 14 pieces for each puzzle and we enjoyed putting them all together.
We have also been visited by Shy Puppet who came out from the Listening Box to meet us. We had to be very quiet and kind to Shy Puppet so he would come out and shake our hands. We have also been listening to sounds from the Listening Box as it is important to recognise sounds with no visuals.
This week we are looking at how the environment changes when Autumn arrives. We have sung our Autumn songs and looked at how things are changing. We have also collected conkers from the preschool garden - some children have their pockets full!
On the maths table, we are beginning to develop an interest in size and played with the linking elephants which help us to look at 'small', 'medium' and 'large'. We also played with the blocks and arranged them according to their size; some of the children built some very tall towers.
Letter/sound of the week this week is 'i'
