Over the next couple of weeks, we are looking at "getting to know you and your family" and are going to talk about our families at circle time. Talking to all our friends in a group helps our self confidence; please remember to fill in the handout given to you this week as the children will enjoy presenting them to the group.
We've done lots of dressing up this week and have been joined by princesses, monkeys and tigers to name but a few! On the construction table, we have been building really tall towers and we practised our numbers by counting the blocks. On the craft table, we've been experimenting with all kinds of tools for mark-making; felt tips, crayons and pencils. And we've also had the playdough out which everyone has enjoyed. This week we have been looking at "all about me" and learning how to settle into pre-school after our long holiday or for the very first time at pre-school.
We played in the home corner with the babies and teddies and of course with our friends. Initiating and joining in with play is something we learn and enjoy at pre-school. In maths, we had our matching game out which helps us to match numbers and quantity and we made a number line with everybody representing a different number. Our sound of the week this week is "S" for snake and we have been looking at writing our names. |
