The children had a great day on Tuesday, participating in our annual Sports Day. They enjoyed competing in bean bag, egg and spoon and running races as well as watching the Mums and Dads race! To end it all everyone enjoyed lots of delicious buns and cookies kindly donated by the parents.
In Pre-School this week we have been busy cutting and sticking. The children have enjoyed playing in the sand, experimenting with adding water and mixing it round and round. They also had fun measuring with water and jugs. We practised our phonics ready for 'Big School' and as a taster for our new starters of what is to come in September. We have been looking at the Big Book of Nursery Rhymes and practised some singing of our favourite rhymes, we're getting really good at them! This week we have been having a 'Let's Paint' week. The children have enjoyed experimenting with using a variety of paint brushes and paints.
On the maths table we have been looking at 3D shapes, learning their names, doing lots of talking about them and comparing them to 2D shapes. The children have loved spending time outside using the chalks and playing in the sand. They played with water, painting their names and watching how fast they dried in the sun. We have enjoyed sharing the stories of 'Handa's Surprise' and 'Following the Sun' this week. |
