26/6/2015

The children were very excited this week to have Mrs Shimwell from Longstone Primary School come down to Pre school to read them all a story. When our oldest children leave us to start school in September Mrs Shimwell will be teaching them (along with Mrs Eastwood) so they were all on their best behaviour!

The week ended with a very successful Preschool cake sale at Longstone Primary School. As you can see from the before and after pictures above it was a great success! Thank you to everyone who contributed.

Mark Making

12/6/2015

On the games table this week we played a matching game which helped us to match colours and numbers and named objects. We have also loved playing with the Duplo and have made some wonderful creations.

We have had free choice mark making out on the craft table and lots of children have practised writing their names and writing numbers.

We have visited the garden this week and enjoyed playing in the sunshine. We have been creating in the mud kitchen and making the most of our time in the sand pit.

Creative Hands

5/6/2015

This week we have been looking at trees. We have started to use hand prints to create a tree for our new Preschool logo. We painted our hands with different shades of green - the paint brush felt very funny!!!

On the construction table we had the blocks out. We have been learning about 3D shapes and talking about the shapes of the blocks.

Some of the children built a very long train track and we counted all the trains as we chugged along.

Our sound this week is 'ng' for STRONG, like you are lifting something heavy.

We have visited the garden through the week and played in the mud kitchen and the sand. We loved playing on the slides too!
