This week we have been looking at Nursery Rhymes. Showing an awareness of rhyming is something we learn at preschool.
On the craft table, we started looking at a new wall display which will incorporate everything we are looking at in nursery rhymes. On the maths table, we have been looking at matching shapes using our shape activity box. And on the carpet we have been playing with the farm. Outside and in the hall up at school we have been working on balancing. Our sound of the week was "l" This week we have been looking at time and at days and weeks and months and even the year, as we have just celebrated a new year arriving. We have had the clocks out and the times-of-the-day puzzle and also the days-of-the-week puzzle.
Some children worked on writing their name and we have spent lots of time playing with the garage and the cars and the trains, as well has working on our fine motor skills by playing with the threading beads. We have also been baking and everyone made some yummy banana biscuits. The children did the weighing and measuring and stirring and we used lots of different sized bowls and spoons. Sound of the week is "f" |
