On the craft table, some children finished off painting the clay models they made last week. We all spent some time making clouds which are hung across the preschool building. And everyone had a go at painting pictures with very thick and very thin brushes - we really enjoyed experimenting with the different widths and seeing what lines we could make.
On the construction table, we played with sticklebricks. They are sort of sticky and grip really well - construction enables us to develop both our physical skills and our imaginations. We have also looked at making a magic name card! We looked at our name, cut it out, sounded out our letters and ordered the letters in our name. Some of the children had help and some did it all on their own. It is important at preschool to discuss and help make the children aware of the meaning behind their mark making and letter formation. This week at preschool we have been looking at the topic "Rain".
On the craft table we have been drawing pictures of wellington boots for a stunning wall display. We have coloured these in and painted them and have used lots of different materials to explore different textures and patterns. We have spent time in our garden (even though it has been a bit chilly) and we all brought in our wellies and went out to jump in puddles which everybody enjoyed - we got quite wet! We read stories about rain and rainbows and thunderstorms. |
